Yenagoa — Civil Liberties Organisation, CLO, and civil societies from the six geo-political zones of the country, have concluded plans to form a new coalition and intensify campaign for the prosecution of former President Olusegun Obasanjo over the 1999 military invasion and destruction of Odi community in Bayelsa State.
The proposed coalition, according to the CLO, is expected to put machinery in motion to effect the prosecution of former President Obasanjo and his collaborators at the International Court of Justice, ICJ.
In a paper presented at the 13th anniversary of Odi military invasion, the CLO Chairman, Bayelsa State chapter, Chief Nengi James, said that though the people of Odi community had done the needful and instituted a lawsuit against the Federal Government before the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and secured fair judgment, the proposed coalition will not rest until the former President was prosecuted and indicted.
